Seeking Fate (The Fated #3) by Brenda Drake
Publication Date:  September 3, 2018

Fate changer Daisy Layne is nervous about searching Europe for a firstborn son doomed to die on his eighteenth birthday. But she’s the only one who can save him. No pressure or anything. She needs the help of guide Andrei Vasile, who she’s been talking to online for two years. Still, meeting him in person…that’s a whole different story.

Andrei is determined to keep Daisy safe, even if touching her could kill him. At least, that’s what his family has told him about fate changers like Daisy. She’s strong and beautiful, and it’s his job to keep her alive. Unfortunately, what she doesn’t know could kill her.

Save a life. End a curse. And never, ever get too close...

Music is a great way to get into the feeling of a scene. A book’s playlist can add another layer to the story. The perfect song can help deepen your writing and aide in helping us feel the characters’ emotions. I’m thrilled to share with you today my playlist for SEEKING FATE, book three in the Fated series.
There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back by Shawn Mendes is the perfect song to start out with. It’s the song that inspired the young couple traveling together in the book. Plus Shawn Mendes looks a lot like Andrei Vasile in Seeking Fate.
Capital Letters by Hailee Steinfeld is a fun song that reminds me of budding love and how it feels Daisy feel.
Stranger Things by Kygo ft OneRepublic this song plays to the strange things happening with Daisy’s fate changing. The lyrics “But I’m just looking out for you tonight” fits with Andrei and how he’s determined to keep Daisy safe even if she’s dangerous.
Crave You by Robinson the mood of this song fits a particular scene when Daisy and Andrei are apart.
You Are the Reason by Calum Scott, Leona Lewis fits when they’ve realized their feelings, and they’re now separated by the Atlantic Ocean, and Daisy needs to get to him before somethings happens.
I Get to Love You by Ruelle is excellent for the ending, can’t say why, but Daisy and Andrei do attend a wedding, so the song just fits their mood.
I hope you enjoyed the playlist for SEEKING FATE. If you’d like to listen to the playlist for TOUCHING FATE, click here.
Brenda Drake grew up the youngest of three children, an Air Force brat, and the continual new kid at school. Her fondest memories growing up is of her eccentric, Irish grandmother's animated tales, which gave her a strong love for storytelling. With kids of all ages populating Brenda's world, it was only fitting that she would choose to write stories with a bend toward the fantastical for both younger readers and the young at heart. And because she married her prince charming, there's always a romance warming the pages. Her favorite books are The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis, Kings Row by Henry Bellamann, and Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. When she's not writing, she hosts workshops and contests for writers such as Pitch Wars and Pitch Madness on her blog, and holds Twitter pitch parties on the hashtag, #PitMad. In her free time, Brenda enjoys hanging out with her family, haunting libraries, bookstores, and coffee shops, or just reading someplace quiet and not at all exotic (much to her disappointment).
